Does God see Meekness in our hearts?

We are told from God to have a meek spirit, but what does that really mean? Like the word "submission" I believe that we have a misunderstanding of what this word really means, so here is a simple study for us to ponder on,,,,,1. Humble patient or submissive, as under provocation from others. 2. Overly patient or submissive; tame. 3. Gentle; kind, meek, soft, mild, modest, long-suffering, enduring, modest, tolerant, persevering, understanding, unhurried.
Synonyms would be: humbleness, resignation, surrender, forbearance, yielding, docility;unassuming, understanding

In today's world, ladies are encourage to be verbal, flashy and unyielding. We grow up to be wives and mothers and wonder why there is so much anger and lack of peace in our lives. I truly believe that searching the Bible and finding out what God expects of us is the only way to find real happiness in our lives,,,,despite the world around us! I know that I can see many examples in the words above that remind me of areas I need to pay extra attention to.
How patient and soft did I speak to my children? How submissive and yielding am I to my Husbands needs? Did I preserver in my chores? Let us remind one another to pray to God for help in these areas! ~xo~

What does a Mother get out of being a mother?

"She's one woman in a million. It's something to thank God for, a mother like that; it's a privilege to know her. I've been wondering what she gets out of it; but I think I've found it out. This morning, thinking what her life is, I couldn't see what repaid her, do you see?" (young man talking to the daughter of this mother who has 8 children) "What made up to her for the unending effort and sacrifice, the pouring out of love and sympathy and help- year after year after year...."

"You know, these days when women just serenely ignore the question of children, or at most, as a special concession, bring up one or two- just the one or two whose expenses can be comfortably met!- there's something magnificent in a woman like your mother, who begins eight destinies instead of one! She doesn't strain and chafe to express herself through the medium of poetry or music or the stage, but she puts her whole splendid philosophy into her nursery- launches sound little bodies and minds that have their first growth cleanly and purely about her knees. "

" Why, what good is learning, or elegance of manner, painfully acquired fitness of speech and taste and point of view, if you are not going to distill it into the growing plants, the only real hope we have in the world?

"you know, there's a higher tribunal than the social tribunal of this world, after all; and it seems to me that a woman who stands there, with a forest of new lives about her and a record like hers will find she has a Friend at court!"

taken from MOTHER, by Kathleen Norris. A book I just finished about a Young lady who just can't seem to understand why her mother has given up her life to keep having babies. I think this is a struggle that many ladies and young mothers battle at some time or another. I found this book through http://www.visionforum.com/ , I wish I could buy a whole cart of these to pass out to others! (I put in bold what I felt was significant)

Motherhood

In a world that continues to limit the size of their family, one can feel very misunderstood, even by fellow brother and sisters in Christ. Encouragement will often times not be found from friends and family. I often times have to remind myself that God knows best and will Bless those who will trust in Him.
I thought I would share some passages from a book that has shown me many points that Christians have lost sight of.
"The enemy knows the power of life. Every human being that comes into the world is another potential for God's purpose and glory and to destroy the works of the enemy. This is why Satan tries to destroy God's purpose for mothers. The greatest threat to him is a mother who understands her calling, to nurture and nourish life, to train, polish, and sharpen these children for God's mighty purposes- and for the eternal age." Be Fruitful and Multiply
"Now at the this time when God is looking for a people to fulfill His purposes like no other time in history, Satan is once again trying to eliminate the army of God. Over these last few decades, he has been very successful. Born-again, God-loving Christians have fallen into His deceptive plan and helped him reduce God's army."
I have many areas in my life that are not pure. My faith is not always and strong as it should be and I often times have to remind myself to be content with were I am in my life at this point. Life is pretty difficult at times. God doesn't tell us that following His plan will always be easy, instead He tells us that we will be persecuted- that is one way we know we are doing His Will. I am Blessed by God, for I know He is by my side. He will give me strength, patience, and guidance--if I will only listen to Him. God calls life GOOD!

Following Ones Heart?

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Jeremiah 17:9 (this is something I need to remind myself of over and over!) Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. Jeremiah 17:7

Just now I am showed a Blessing in following the LORD. Homeschooling is challenging and my "heart" could lead me away from it. (you know things like---the children need more or better-that would be ME and not the Lord talking) so the Blessing GOD showed me was listening to my just turned 2 year old counting! i know he doesn't "get it" but he is learning without being away from "the home".
I am reminded of this verse when thinking of family size also! That's another big one for me. I would love to hear ways that this verse helps guide you, also.

Embracing Your Sacred Calling

What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord God. We should accustom ourselves to think of our position and work as sacred and well-pleasing to God, not on account of the postition and work, but on account of the word and faith from which the obedience and the work flow.

The Parents Part

"Wait not till the little hands are at rest

Ere you fill them full of flowers;

Wait not for the crowning tuberose

To make sweet the last sad hours;

But while, in the busy household band,

Your darlings still need your guiding hand,

Oh fill their lives with sweetness.

"Remember the homes whence the light has fled.

Where the rose has faded away;

And the love that glows in youthful hearts,

Oh, cherish it while you may,

And make your home a garden of flowers,

Where joy shall bloom through childhood's hours,

And fill young lives with sweetness."

Glorify God

I thought I would share the Bible lesson we are studying in our home education. I think this verse is a wonderful study, for all ages and sex. (but since I am female and am training mostly female- I will focus my thoughts around the woman;-) I would love to have ANY comments. ~xo~
1Corinthians 6 (King James Bible)
6:11...but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. (19) Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? (20) For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

We listed together ways we can show glory to God through "our body and spirit". If these belong to God, and God in in us, can others tell? For my children the challenge is having a God spirit while playing with each other and doing task around the house. For me, the challenge is to show God even at times that I am frustrated and tired. (with children and husband- plus when dealing with people outside of my home!)
19-Know that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost, and not my own?
There are so many ways this can be applied. The foods we eat, the overall health of the body, how we dress, how we look.
Some think that it is silly to worry about the ingredient in our food and medicines. But if your body is a temple and God's temple at that, isn't it important what you but in it?
And how about how we dress and fix our hair and makeup? Shouldn't we dress in a way that God would be pleased by? Would we dress sexy (or sloppy) if God was coming for dinner? Would we put so much makeup on (which goes back to the ingredient topic, also) and how would we fix our hair, if it was God we were trying to please?
I think we should make ways to remind ourselves when we are getting dressed, that we are dresses God's temple. And when we are fixing meals,(or taking med.) that we are putting this for storage in God's temple. I know that I need to be reminded of this daily!
**and it doesn't stop there. How about what we are learning? What we are reading and listening to. If all these things are building a temple that is for God's use, than how strong are me making it? Is it really as harmful as we think?

who do you live for?

A young woman was complaining, to her friend about her long hair. She was talking about how long it took to comb, and how it was often in her way. Her friend suggest just cutting it short. The young lady told her friend that she keeps it long, because her husband likes it that way. She, her self, doesn't really care one way or the other, but her husband likes it so she keeps it long for him. Her friend, rolls her eyes, and simple says- "who's hair is it anyway? I would tell my husband, if he likes long hair so much, he should grow his long!"
The lady answers her friend with this thought provoking answer.
"I am always looking for ways to please and serve my husband. I serve God, by serving my husband. My husband serves God by providing for me and our children. If it pleases my husband for my hair to be long- how hard is it for me to keep it long? Sure, it takes some time, but how much time is too much for God? I serve my husband by cooking for him and providing a happy home to him. What better way can I serve my God? God doesn't tell me to live for myself, he tells me to live for Him, by serving others. Since, I am married, the first person I am to serve is my husband- and through that simple act of doing for him out of love- I serve God!"
Then she tell her friend thank you. For what her friend ask? "For reminding me, how my service to God should come without complaining! I am now thankful to have hair, and blessed to be able to grow long hair- in which pleases my husband."

What must God be thinking of us?

Reading through Vaughnshire Farm blog- I must say that I agree so much with most everything I read on this blog. I do feel like God helped me find their blog-((since I have been reading and learning more about the women's role according to God and His Words from the Bible.)) I find that this is an area that most women don't know anything about-which seems very odd to me! I remember learning about women's rights in school. No one dared tell us the dirty evil side of this movement, or explain how "these brave women" changed my life, not so much for the better!. Now the more I learn, the more I see the real need to fight for women's rights. (not the right to vote or be president - but the right to stay home with my children, breast feed my babies, train as needed, and tend to the health of my family)
With all the buzz about Mrs. Palin, I have been very moved on how fellow Brother and Sisters in Christ have responded. Moved to sometimes tears (not of joy, but of a broken heart) other times I almost feel anger. Why anger? Because I am shocked at how Christians are playing this game of politics. Totally turning against what God has told us, for, what they call - HOPE!? I am left shocked, disgusted, and mournful. I wonder why we still teach about Eve being lead astray from God and her husband, while at the same time we so easily, almost joyfully, go astray ourselves. ----So I wanted to share what Beth from Vaughnshire Farm posted. Very well said, I must say. And If you feel "fed" from this portion on her post I encourage you to visit the link (listed on blogs that I follow, to the side) Read some more post and you will have some real "meat" to chew on!
Sarah is 44 and the mother of 5 children –19 years old and under. She
gave birth to a premature special needs newborn in April and returned to work 3
days after he was born. Now her 17 year old unmarried daughter
is 5 months pregnant and Sarah’s husband is…well, a stay-at-home
dad while Sarah parades around the country pursuing political fame.
Sarah says she can raise her children and run the nation and reading her flaming
feminist rhetoric is enough to send chills down my back.
Why doesn’t
this sound bizarre to the Christian community is the question I keep asking
myself? It is further proof that the majority of the Christian community
is so watered down in the sludge of cultural thought and gripped around the neck
by the lies of feminism, they can’t determine heads from tails if they
tried.
R.L. Dabney once quipped, “…when the mother shall have found
another sphere than her home for her energies; when she shall have exchanged the
sweet charities of domestic love and sympathy for the fierce passions of the
hustings (or politics); when families shall be disrupted at the caprice of
either party, and the children scattered as foundlings from their hearthstone,
it requires no wisdom to see that a race of sons will be reared nearer akin to
devils than to men. In the hands of such a bastard progeny, without
discipline, without homes, without a God, the last remains of social order will
speedily perish, and society will be overwhelmed in savage
anarchy.”
God does not mince words when He states his desires for
His women and places upon them the honored place and sphere that only a
woman can fill. Many choose to overlook the fact that He has already given
a clear picture of how we as women are to conduct ourselves as
pleasing servants of the Lord first and foremost. Titus 2:4-5
states, “That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their
husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at
home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not
blasphemed.”
Dabney goes on to say, …”the very traits which fit her to be the
angel of a virtuous home unfit her to meet the agitations of political life,
even as safely as does the more rugged man. The hot glare of publicity and
passion will speedily deflower her delicacy and sweetness. Those
temptations, which her Maker did not form her to bear, will debauch her heart,
developing a character as much more repulsive than that of the debauched man as
the fall has been greater. The politicating woman, unsexed and
denaturalized, shorn of the true glory of her femininity, will appear to men as
a feeble hybrid manikin dwarf, with all the defects and none of the strength of
the male. Instead of being the dear object of his chivalrous affection,
she becomes his importunate rival, despised without being feared!”
